What solar/PV equipment do you install? Why?
Electric On Demand is consistently at the forefront of the industry with regards to new technologies becoming available to our customers almost daily. In selecting a particular product to implement we take into account product performance in real-world situations, what geographical location the product is manufactured, warranties offered by the manufacturer, availability and cost of the product and its' components, and company profile. We feel that this approach gives us good data when making decisions to market, install, and maintain products we believe in. Please take a look at our “Links/Partners” page for the manufacturers products we believe in and install. If there is a specific product manufacturer that you're interested in learning more about please let us know.
What is the warranty for parts installed by Electric On Demand? How about labor?
Electric On Demand warrants all products that we install per the manufacturer's guidelines. Solar modules are carrying a warranty for 20 to 25 years for most manufacturers which has become an industry standard. Inverters carry a warranty of 10 years with the option to upgrade to 20 years or more. Electric On Demand will always stand behind the products that we provide and install for our clients.
Can I purchase an extended warranty?
Yes. This option will be included and reviewed during the initial consultation.
Do you have different products for different price points and budgets?
Yes. We carry several different types of solar modules and solar inverters so that everyone can afford a solar system. Our job is to coordinate the right solar module and inverter to meet your particular price point.
Do I have a choice of panel manufacturer/inverter/racking, etc.?
You always have a choice with us. There are many different manufacturers to choose from, we will help you choose the right one for you and your project. We have done the research and believe that we can offer the best products on the market at very competitive prices.
What will my HOA (Homeowner’s Association) say about my new solar/PV system?
You will most likely need to get the approval from your HOA and as part of our process, we will provide you with the documentation you will need to submit for approval. By federal law, the HOA cannot refuse your solar electric system. However, most HOAs do have some basic guidelines on the installation of solar electric panels on rooftops to keep the neighborhood looking the best that it can for everyone’s property values. Typically you'll need to fill out some minor paperwork to let them know what you plan on doing and again, this is something that we assist you with.
I purchased some Solar/PV products online and now I don’t know what to do. Can you help me?
Chances are we may still be able to help you. There are many different products available online now and it's tough to resist some of the “Buy It Now” pricing. The problem is once you get the products delivered to you they are more difficult to implement into your electrical system than the company had originally stated. However, installing systems is what we do so please give us a call to talk through the process.
I was told that my electrical service was too small and/or too old to “add on” to for solar/PV. What can you do?
When we come out to do your site consultation we will let you know whether you will need to upgrade your existing electrical service. We are capable and qualified to perform electrical service panel upgrades and do so on a regular basis.
Can I specify where I would like to place the equipment on my residence so I can keep my house as aesthetically pleasing as possible?
We will always do our best to keep your house looking as fantastic as possible. After all, the final product has our name on it as well. Although we do have to adhere to the strict guidelines of the National Electric Code, as well as the local utility company and the city building codes, we will do everything possible to make the installation as aesthetically pleasing as possible.
What, if any, are the maintenance concerns with owning a solar/PV system?
Maintenance on PV modules is minimal. We recommend “rinsing” solar modules with a garden hose once a year in neighborhoods not exposed to extreme dust. Do not hose them off when they’re hot, since uneven thermal shock could potentially crack the glass in extreme heat. We would recommend washing them off in the early morning or late evening once or twice a year. Maintenance is also a service that we offer to all of our customers who purchase a solar electrical system from Electric On Demand. Please ask for more details.
What happens if my system stops working?
We have not experienced this yet but if it does occur you can give us a call and we will provide the technical assistance needed to continue with optimal performance.
